The FLADER_ING programme started in 2017 with the PRINTRE LINII project: a series of urban furniture modules placed in the portico of University of Architecture and Urbanism ‘Ion Mincu’. The project’s aim was to rejuvenate the University’s unused public space in the portico area and create a link between Academiei Street, the University’s front garden, the main entrance access and the exhibition space directly visible from the street. Composed of a total of 250 linear meters of laminated timber, the bench’s length reaches 25m and is made out of 11 modules, using 201 beams, each having the same cross section of 72 x 86 mm. Each of the three different types of modules used have a different height, according to their purpose. Therefore, the tallest one is an exhibition module, the intermediar one is similar to a stand and the lowest one is a sitting module, a bench. The project was designed and built by students of U.A.U.I.M. and was inaugurated during the Street Delivery Festival in Bucharest, 2017.Text description of the author
