For ten years, The Tools Museum is a concept which refers to a unique collection of tools from the European space, from the 17th century. Unfortunately, this collection stays in a storage area, being far away from the public. The owner of the collection, Catalin Sorescu, wants to exhibit them in a way that the public will be able not only to see it, but also to touch the tools and work with them, try them out. The project proposes a mix functions in an area where there is no social or cultural attraction. Besides the exhibition area, the house will attract its visitors through workshops and other creative activities as well. When it comes to the architecture of the building, the Southern facade becomes a big shading system that aims to have an aesthetical impact in the neighbourhood as well. The ground floor is dedicated entirely to the tools store belonging to the client and the first floor is thought for the exhibition path. The last floor is an additional one, built on a wooden structure, aiming to accomodate the makerspace function.Text description of the author
