The Spot is a new multi brand chain of premium fashion sportswear stores, currently operating at three retail spaces in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Serbia. During the design process, the aim was to create a dynamic, modern and distinctive space, in accordance with the concept of The Spot, which is oriented towards the customers who use sportswear to create their own style and identity. The idea was to design a unique space, which customers could easily identify with. Entrance zones of every store contains a “network” structure made of triangular elements. This structure is a geometric form, made using parametric modeling and digital design tools. The design is based on two key words: dynamics and identity. The form is associated with movement and sports, according to the purpose of the space. On the other hand, this structure visually dominates the space, providing identity and recognizability. Triangular scheme was chosen because of its flexibility and adaptability to different areas, while preserving the concept and uniqueness. Accordingly, the chosen material fits the premium concept of The Spot. Copper finishing of the triangles emphasizes modern, youthful spirit, but also elegance and timeless values.Text description of the author
Digital Design Center is founded in 2014 at Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Digital Design Center is dedicated to develop and investigate application of recently developed technologies in architecture, urbanism, and design. With the rapid expansion of digital technologies and simultaneous adjustment of industrial tools and techniques, architecture become perceivable in the new way that was not possible before. Many opportunities that consider analysis, study, design and product architectural structures exists today, and new ones constantly appear. Our goal is to obtain, define, and solve current architectural problems, concentrating to the fields of architectural geometry, robots in architecture, digital fabrication and production, applications for 3d modeling, surveying and visualization, programming, and other approaches.
